 London Borough of Harrow - Interactive Texts Deliver Pioneering Service

Brand2Hand Case Studies The London Borough of Harrow are using text messaging services from Brand2Hand to support online feedback from their residents.






The service is being tested in South Harrow, as part of the New Harrow Project. Residents and businesses can report faults with council services, such as failing street lights or holes in the road, by sending a text message directly to the council. This is believed to be the first time text messaging has been used in this way, and is suggestive of an new market in new media communications.

"Text messaging is a very efficient way for councils to receive enquiries and reports from the public," says Kate O'Malley, Communications Manager at the London Borough of Harrow. "We are trialling interactive text messaging as a key part of our strategy to provide online services, which helps us to fulfil our e-government objectives. Using their mobile phones, people can reach us from anywhere at any time."
